Is anyone else obsessed with Gillian Welch's "Soul Journey"?
Lay down between your high volume level speakers and fall in love with it.

12:49 - Love is Still the New Snark
Didn't the hipsters get the memo?
I hope this isn't a hoax in the Jeff Mangum vein because this whole string of Ryan Adams defending his prolific songwriting was pretty amusing to read. And he's right, you know. It's so frickin easy to sit back and criticize. Look at me, I'm bored and insecure but I have an extensive vocabulary and access to all the indie websites. Obviously, my new and clever way to trash someone as overrated because people enjoy the art they've made is going to force these artists back into obscurity where I can once again feel free to justify their awesomeness. What's wrong with being prolific? Don't you wish your favorite band made more of your favorite music? I'm still not understanding what these people expect from artists. If you don't like the whole CD, then let technology work for you! There's a function on your iPod which allows you to create playlists! You already have A.D.D. so just sift through the music you couldn't possibly waste your time listening to because there are too many other albums in desperate need of your witty snark! Armchair critics: give me a B! O! R! I! N! G!
Say there, armchair critic, what do you make? Mix CDs? Really? Wow. I mean, wow.
Where are the makers? More importantly, where are the makers who can still make something beautiful and passionately defend creativity after having hate spat at them for years? Now that is sexy.
Make. Love. Make out of love. Love what is made.
Seriously, people.
And yes, I know this is snarky... it's supposed to be ironical, geeeeeeez.
